TEXARKANA, Ark. -- With high school sports coming to an end recently in Arkansas, it's now that time of the year to dip into the awards all-star games.
And Arkansas High is representing Texarkana well with end-of-year accolades.
In baseball, senior outfielder Luke Paxton has been selected for the AHSCA All-Star Game along with head coach Trent Wilson on the West team's coaching staff as an assistant.
Arkansas High's baseball team had three All-State selections, with Paxton, Ryan Wardlaw and Ty Waid all receiving the honor.
Freshman sensation Aniya Arnold, who SB Live calls "an underclassman to watch for the next few years, lived up to their hype this season -- as expected -- as she was the lone Lady Back on the All-State softball team this season.
Mayhli Drumm, who was a force for the Arkansas High program this year in scoring and setting her team up, was recognized for her efforts and was named to the All-State girls soccer team.
Track and Field
Telly Wells and McKenzie Smith were names that was brought up often in competition this year for Arkansas High and both were honored with their All-State track and field selections.
